At Cain & Cain - February 2015

(from Feb 2015 Cain & Cain Newsletter)

Dear Clients and Friends,

When I sat down over the weekend to write a few words regarding the coming year and our plans for 2015 at Cain & Cain, I could not help reflecting on 2014.

On October 1st, 2014 Cain & Cain, Estate Planners for Life celebrated our 5th anniversary and our biggest growth year to date.  Although Marty and I have practiced law for almost 24 years, five years ago we were in many respects a “start-up” law firm as we transitioned our law practice to that of only estate planning.  Recognizing that traditional estate plans were not working, we developed a process to make sure that our clients’ estate plans “really worked,” and opened our doors in Norman in 2009.

Marty, Mitch and I remember well the “grind” of the traditional law practice and how much we don’t miss it.  We can honestly say that in helping you create estate plans that really work for you and your families, “work oftentimes does not seem like work.”  The work we do with our clients is proactive, not reactive; constructive not destructive; and it actually makes the world a better place, as we help you take care of the people you love and the causes you support.

Given our successful growth, we are taking the opportunity to review our processes, ensuring that we give the best possible service to our clients. Our golfer clients will like Arnold Palmer’s quote, “The road to success is always under construction.”  We find that to be very true!

Alana’s responsibilities have expanded to include a lot more of the “Funding” and retitling of assets.  Mitch is doing more and more Settlement work as he works with the family members of our deceased clients.  Marty and I are working more with your bankers, financial advisors, and CPA’s as we continue to design and deliver estate plans for our clients.

Next time you drop by or call, expect some new faces as we have added two new Interns. Emma Weaver, a Journalism student at OU, is working with Alana in the Client Services Coordinator position so that Alana can devote more time to Funding and the Estate Planners for Life™ Maintenance program.  Ryan Barrett, an Advertising and Public Relations major at OU, is assisting with communications with our clients, Planning Partners, and prospective clients.

Looking forward to another successful year,

Tamara Cain
